TEACHER'S AIDE/ PARAPROFESSIONAL

This role is part of a program in which you will be trained to jumpstart a meaningful career including a number of career advancement and opportunities.

Overview:

• This is a Paraprofessional Independent Contractor position assigned to cases within our partnered school districts, with most case assignments on site at one location.
• Majority of paraprofessional cases occur during the school day, days and times may vary (typically between 7:00-3:00 PM, Monday-Friday).
• After School cases do occur at some locations (varying days, typically between 2:30-3:30 PM)
• Entry level and advanced level training for this position is available for qualified candidates.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Own transportation to get to and from assigned cases not accessible to public transportation in Nassau and Suffolk County
• Willingness to completed offered compensated training based on experience level

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum and/or with mental health challenges

Responsibilities:

• Support students in their day-to-day
• Assist student in transitioning from one activity to the next
• Help students understand and complete assignments
• Implement Behavior Intervention Plan, if one is in place
• Assist and facilitate appropriate peer interactions
• Provide positive reinforcement
• Assist teachers in implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
