What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist position at Blue Sea Educational Consulting?
Blue Sea currently serves over 80 school districts across Long Island. This creates ample opportunities for providers to take on a flexible case load that may reflect full-time, part-time, or individual case load opportunities.
Position Description :
- Demonstrates and applies knowledge of human growth and development to deliver services in a manner appropriate to the age of the student
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill in the use of therapeutic techniques, activities, and principles of Occupational Therapy
- Performs a thorough, evidence-based clinical assessment of the needs of the student and provides treatment in keeping with the Individualized Education Plan
- Establishes measurable short- and long-term IEP goals in conjunction with the student’s educational team
- Collaborates with the educational team to determine the services, supports, modifications and accommodations required for the student to meet their annual goals
- Completes daily documentation of OT services that is thorough, accurate and completed in accordance with school district policy
- Communicates professionally and in a timely manner with all stakeholders including, school district personnel, families and Blue Sea staff
- Attends and participates in CSE and other team meetings as needed
