What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Strategist, Principal - Individual & Family Plans position at Blue Shield of CA?
Your Role
The Product Strategy and Management team defines and drives execution strategies across our Individual and Family Plans (IFP), commercial employer group, and Medi-Cal markets. Reporting to the Director, Product Strategy (IFP, Small Business, and Medi-Cal), the Product Strategy, Principal will play a key role in shaping regional and product / network specific strategies. This position is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that align with line-of-business objectives, ensuring financial sustainability, competitive positioning, and growth.
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MPH, or related healthcare field) strongly preferred
- Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience, including in managed healthcare
- Requires experience with strategic design and using performance indicators to align with business unit goals and company objectives
- Requires broad healthcare industry knowledge and thorough understanding of health care financing elements with medical groups, IPAs, and other providers
- Requires experience gathering and evaluating external competitor information and insights
- Experience utilizing third party network analysis tools to define and identify opportunities or gaps strongly preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to create and deliver clear, powerful, and concise presentations / proposals and translating strategic and business goals into visual deliverables
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills and proven ability to drive data driven decisions
Pay Range :
The pay range for this role is : $ 145970.00 to $ 218900.00 for California.
