Your Role

The Health Data Transformation & Evaluation team drives implementation of the Digital Health Record (DHR). As the business driver, the team leads the integration of various data sources into a longitudinal patient record. The Data Analyst-Health, Principal, will report to Sr. Manager, Health Data Strategy. In this role you will oversee, as a Business Product Owner, the design, development, testing, and deployment of the Digital Health Record, ensuring that it meets Blue Shield's data-driven objectives. In addition, this role will lead efforts to validate accuracy and integrity of data received from DHR sources and its adoption within the operational workflows by end-users.

Your Work

In this role, you will :

  • Liaise with cross functional teams of data architects, modelers and data quality analysts, who are responsible for building the Digital Health Record within the enterprise data warehouse
  • Define and implement the data integration strategy, architecture, standards, and best practices for the Digital Health Record, ensuring alignment with the organization's vision, mission, and goals
  • Establish and monitor the data quality and governance processes and perform user acceptance testing for the Digital Health Record, ensuring that the data is accurate, complete, consistent, and trustworthy
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and business users across the enterprise to understand their data needs and expectations, and to deliver solutions that enable data-driven decision making and insights
  • Lead design, analysis, and interpretation of various data sources to meet health data strategy goals including but not limited to creation of Digital Health Record
  • Serve as a partner to the Director, Health Data Strategy and Evaluation team to ensure all Digital Health Record and Program evaluation data needs are met

Qualifications

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires an MPH, MBA, MS, MA in science, social science, public health, MIS, computer science, data science, health services research or business, or BA / BS with demonstrated equivalent work experience
  • Requires 10 years of prior relevant experience, with at least 5 years of in Health Care (managed care, academic, or government payer)
  • Proficiency and experience in health informatics is preferred
  • Familiarity with health information exchanges, interoperability, longitudinal patient records and meaningful use is preferred
  • Experience validating the quality and integrity of incoming data is preferred
  • Prior experience in data analysis and reporting, such as SQL, BI tools, and data visualization is preferred
  • Experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, CI / CD, and Git is preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to deliver solutions that meet business objectives and requirements
  • Pay Range :

    The pay range for this role is : $136,400.00 to $204,600.00 for California.

    Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
