Your Role
Reporting to the Vice President of Internal Audit, Security, Corporate Real Estate & Facilities, the role of the Director is critical to the success of Blue Shield of California in realizing its goals and objectives. The Director is the most senior security executive in the organization. The role is accountable for all aspects of the security process, developing and directing the organizations security strategy, and overseeing implementation of the effort to minimize loss, enhance security, and create business opportunity through the control of risk.
Your Work
In this role, you will :
- Accountable for all aspects of the security process, developing and directing the organizations security strategy, and overseeing implementation of the effort to minimize loss, enhance security, and create business opportunity through the control of risk
- Assesses organizational security risk and business operations to formulate a global security strategy to promote business development, reduce risks, and limit exposure to liability in all areas of physical and personal risk
- Identifies and analyzes business and security-related risks to the organization and communicates security risks and makes recommendations to senior management and the board
- Directs security staff in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security plans, processes, and procedures across the organization in all relevant aspects of security, including
- Risk and vulnerability assessment, workplace investigations, background and due diligence investigations, crisis preparedness, emergency response, and business continuity, employee security awareness, insurance and risk transfer, executive protection; and security regulatory compliance
- Accountable for appropriate implementation of emerging security technology solutions and security management techniques
- Develops relationships and represents the organization to high-level law enforcement and intelligence agencies
- Directs the approach, deployment, and execution of sensitive and complex investigations as necessary
- Develops and manages or directs the capital and expense budget for the organizations security operations
