About Us:
We are a dynamic, mid-sized commercial bakery known for innovation, quality, and craftsmanship. Currently, we are a 1-shift operation with two production lines. As we continue to expand, we seek a hands-on, creative, and results-driven Plant Manager to lead our operations while collaborating closely with our product development team and senior leadership.
Job Summary:
The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily bakery operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality, and safety while driving continuous improvement. This role requires an experienced self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is passionate about both process optimization and product innovation. The ideal candidate will be able to role up their sleeves, dig in and spend most of their day on the plant floor thinking critically, solving problems and driving success. Required travel is less than 5% .
Duties:
Lead and Manage Production Operations:
- Oversee all aspects of the bakery’s manufacturing processes, from ingredient handling to final packaging ensuring production goals are met.
- Implement and improve operational efficiencies, cost control measures, and process enhancements.
Collaboration with Product Development & Leadership:
- Work closely with the senior product development team to test and scale new recipes and product lines.
- Provide operational insights to ensure feasibility and efficiency of new product launches.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Manage and mentor production supervisors and staff ~20 employees, to foster a positive, high-performance culture.
- Develop training programs to enhance workforce skills and maintain operational excellence.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, regulatory, and quality assurance standards (FDA, OSHA, GMPs, PCQI, etc.).
- Collaborate with QA Supervisor to monitor and address quality control issues to uphold product consistency and maintain HACCP plans.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Proactively solve production challenges with creative, hands-on solutions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in bakery or food manufacturing leadership roles.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, HACCP, PCQI, Food GMP implementation (in a bakery environment preferred).
- Hands-on leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Creative problem-solver with the ability to think outside the box.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
