Position Title: Kitchen/Counter Team Member
Reports To: Wilson Basilio Coc, Chef, Kitchen Manager
Location: Blue Sky Bar and Patio
We are seeking a friendly and energetic Kitchen/Counter Team Member to join our fast-paced team! As the first point of contact for our customers, you will be responsible for taking orders, handling payments, and providing exceptional service. Your positive attitude will ensure a great experience for each guest. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, work well under pressure, and follow instructions while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Our Kitchen/Counter Team Member will assist as needed in the kitchen and under the direction of the kitchen manager.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Greet customers warmly and take food orders accurately. Provide menu information and offer suggestions to customers.
- Input orders into the POS system and handle payments (cash, credit, and mobile payments).
- Assemble orders for customers and ensure accuracy before serving. Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely order preparation.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues or complaints in a professional manner.
- Assist with basic food prep tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing side dishes.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, and other kitchen tools to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas including countertops, stoves, refrigerators, floors, and storage spaces.
- Follow proper sanitation practices and ensure the kitchen meets health and safety standards.
- Help with receiving deliveries, unpacking supplies, and stocking kitchen inventory. Ensure ingredients and supplies are properly organized and stored.
- Dispose of waste in compliance with health and safety guidelines, including recycling when applicable.
- Assist chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff as needed, including delivering ingredients, refilling supplies, and supporting food plating.
- Help with the maintenance and proper operation of kitchen equipment, notifying supervisors of any equipment issues.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a kitchen or food service setting is preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and operate a POS system
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to help out wherever needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cold, and humidity.
- Will be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Compensation: $15 per hour tips
Schedule:
30 hours per week on-site, to include nights and weekends.
Reports to Chef/Kitchen Manager

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
