Associate BCBA
Associate BCBAs have completed all the necessary steps to becoming Certified and Licensed as a Behavior Analyst; an Associate level BCBA might be new to their role as a BCBA or new to the agency. Associate level BCBAs must stay Connected to the needs of clients on their caseload as well as the needs of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) under their supervision. BCBAs show Resilience in addressing clients’ complex skill deficits and challenging behaviors by using data-driven problem solving methods and pursuing multiple avenues to achieve success. Associate level BCBAs should also seek to Hire and Develop the Best RBTs by providing ongoing support and supervision and developing and providing training as necessary. Associate BCBAs acknowledge the need for continued growth and actively seek to expand their competencies to the benefit of their clients and supervisees. Associate BCBAs should also show Ownership in the growth of the ABA services provided at Blue Sky Behavior Therapy by supporting and building systems that improve services provided to our clients and consumers.
Responsibilities for a Associate Behavior Analyst:
- Supervise 20% of direct client hours, on average 20 hours per week
- Administers, conducts, evaluates and supervises the implementation of behavioral assessment measures
- Provide parent and caregiver trainings
- Is responsible for ongoing individual program oversight
- Manage assessment and other documentation for client caseloads
- Train RBTs, assess competencies, review treatment fidelity,
- Consults with other members of the client’s treatment team (e.g., speech/language pathologists, teachers, etc.) as necessary or as requested by the parent.
- Maintain professional clinical competency by attending continuing education and workshops in the areas of ABA
Requirements for a Associate Behavior Analyst:
An Associate Behavior Analyst has completed a Masters degree and verified course sequence for BCBA credentialing, obtained their BCBA certification, and they are Licensed to practice in the State of Mississippi or are awaiting licensure.
