QA / QC Manager - this is a HANDS ON position & time on the shop floor required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following other duties may be assigned.
- Must have knowledge of ASME Code Section IX, VIII, Div. I, II, API and NACE.
- Review Customer Specifications, Drawings, and P.O. as needed to assure compliance.
- Draft Inspection Test Plan (ITP) based on customer hold points and specification requirements.
- Review welding requirements, issue weld map and welding procedures to shop.
- Issue and distribute change orders as work scope is defined, changed or revised.
- Develop and write new Welding Procedures (WPS) as needed.
- Qualify Welders and maintain Welder Continuity Records.
- Interface with all departments for needed QC Inspection and/or Welding Procedures.
- Complete ASME Code Data Reports for all Code Stamps.
- Review and sign off ASME or NBIC Code Data Packages.
- Interface with Outside Customer Inspection, Engineering, and/or Purchasing on all jobs as needed.
- Subcontract Services of NDT, coordinate with shop.
- Interface with A.I. Agency , coordinate with A.I. Inspector for needed inspections, and signing
- 1.) Material Control and Material Traceability2.) Perform Quality Control Inspection- In process, Visual, dimensional, etc.3.) Perform Final Inspection Before PWHT or Hydro Test4.) Perform Witness of Hydro Test as applicable5.) Monitor and/or witness final Paint as applicable6.) Monitor and/or Witness nameplate attachment as applicable7.) Monitor and/or Witness Shipping and Ship Preparation8.) Final Documentation Package and distribution to customer
- Write QC manual, Revise QC Manual, Distribute QC Manual.
- Attend and represent Company during ASME/NBIC Code Audits.
- Attend and represent Company during Job Review with Customer Engineering, Inspection and Purchasing as needed.
- Review X-Ray Film to ensure compliance to ASME and Customer specifications.
- Maintain Calibration of testing equipment and pressure gages as needed.
- Attend and represent company during Customer Quality Audits as needed.
- Experience with heavy wall vessels and knowledge of exotic materials.
- 10 years experience in a fabrication job shop environment.
- Computer literacy with MS Office, Excel, Weld Pro, & Global Shop or other ERP systems preferred.
