Job Title: Junior Engineer
Location: Fort Wayne / Auburn / Angola, IN
Hybrid: In Office Tues, Wed, and a third day of your choice
Duration: 02/10/2025 - 02/08/2026 (Contract to Hire)
Rate: $35 - $40/hour
Contract Type: W-2 only, no visa sponsorships or subcontracting
Scope of Services:
The Junior Engineer will provide critical support to senior engineering staff, participating in various engineering projects for oil and natural gas facilities. This individual will assist in the development, maintenance, and evaluation of engineering designs, specifications, and processes while ensuring adherence to safety, regulatory, and cost limitations. The Junior Engineer will gain valuable hands-on experience and receive ongoing training, helping to ensure the successful execution of capital projects.
Role, Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Work under the guidance of senior engineers, providing day-to-day support for all engineering-related tasks on various projects.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of structural, systems, controls, and other engineering specifications, procedures, and directives. Participate in pre-production meetings related to pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, and pressure vessels.
- Contribute to materials testing programs and research and development initiatives.
- Collaborate with other junior engineers on projects, particularly those that are routine and recurring in nature.
- Continuously develop engineering knowledge and skills through on-the-job training.
- Provide technical guidance to technicians and offer support to senior professionals when needed.
- Design materials, structures, and systems, considering the limitations posed by practicality, regulations, safety, and cost.
- Conduct feasibility studies, identify resource requirements (both personnel and materials), and set operational and development standards.
- Provide general engineering support for capital projects related to oil and natural gas facilities.
- Support Client Engineering staff by providing engineering expertise as directed.
Education & Qualifications:
- Degree: PHMSA Accredited Mechanical or Civil Engineering Degree (ABET accredited).
- Experience: 0 to 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Location: Must reside in or be willing to commute to the Fort Wayne / Auburn / Angola Area, IN.
- Work Schedule: Ability to work a hybrid schedule with in-office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and a third day of your choosing. This may transition to full-time onsite work in the near future.
Additional Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and practices related to the oil and gas industry.
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulatory guidelines is a plus.
Salary : $35 - $40
