Job Title: Training Lead

Remote: Yes, with occasional travel to client sites
Period: 02/17/2025 – 12/31/2025 (with likely extension into Q1 2026)
Hours/Week: 40 hours
Rate: $75 – $80/hour
Contract Type: W-2 only, no visa sponsorships or subcontracting
Scope of Services:The Training Lead will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the training strategy and programs for an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) gas meter implementation. Initially, the Training Lead will focus on updating and creating job aids to ensure a smooth transition for all users. This role will also involve collaborating with the project team, business stakeholders, and internal/external trainers to ensure that all employees are adequately prepared for the new system and processes. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in training, system implementations, and process optimization, specifically in utilities or similar industries.
Role, Responsibilities & Deliverables:
Training Strategy Development
- Develop a comprehensive training plan and strategy for the AMI gas meter implementation, tailored to different user groups (e.g., IT, HR, Operations).
- Define training objectives, success criteria, and key milestones in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals.
Needs Assessment and Content Creation
- Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and areas requiring further training.
- Develop training work plans, utilizing support from additional instructional designers (internal/external).
- Create job aids, user guides, and other resources to support user training, initially focusing on updating and creating job aids related to the AMI gas meters.
Training Delivery and Coordination
- Lead delivery of training sessions, ensuring all users are trained before the system goes live.
- Coordinate schedules for training sessions and manage participant registration.
- Ensure training sessions are interactive, utilizing live demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and eLearning modules.
Develop Train the Trainer Approach
- Develop materials and conduct "Train the Trainer" sessions to prepare trainers for both in-person and virtual training sessions.
User Support and Documentation
- Provide post-training support to users, addressing questions, providing troubleshooting assistance, and maintaining engagement with the new system.
- Maintain comprehensive training records, tracking attendance, completion rates, and feedback.
- Develop and maintain documentation, FAQs, and self-service resources for end users.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Measure the effectiveness of the training program using feedback, assessments, and system adoption metrics.
- Identify areas for improvement and refine training approaches as needed.
- Regularly report on training progress and ensure alignment with the project timeline.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with stakeholders, including HR, IT, and business teams, to ensure training programs meet organizational needs.
- Engage with project management and the change management team to ensure that training supports smooth system adoption and transition.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in training, particularly in system implementations or business process transformation.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs for large-scale systems, particularly in the utilities industry or similar sectors.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to design and implement successful training strategies.

Education & Certifications:
