Family Development Coordinator II – Jefferson & Thayer Counties
Full-Time | 36 hours/week | Starting at $18.50/hr

Join Blue Valley Community Action (BVCA) as the Family Development Coordinator for Thayer and Fillmore Counties. This vital, community-focused position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through direct service and program coordination.
Position Overview:
This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the Thayer and Fillmore County Field Offices while providing direct support to individuals and families. You will connect clients to a range of support services, including:
- Emergency Solutions Program (ESG)
- Project FIRST
- Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF)
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Other emergency assistance programs
Services are delivered through direct case management and community resource coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide case management to help clients secure and maintain housing
- Complete required assessments, applications, and documentation for housing programs
- Assist with housing placement and develop stabilization plans
- Assess client needs and connect them to community services
- Maintain accurate and timely records in BitFocus and BVCA systems
- Supervise assigned staff and manage volunteers
- Build community awareness and collaborate with local agencies and groups
- Represent BVCA professionally in all public and partner interactions
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree (or at least 24 college credit hours), with 12 credit hours in human services OR
- Two years of relevant experience in human services or a related field
- One year of experience providing one-on-one support using case management principles
