Sanitation and Food Service Worker

We are looking for a Dietary Aide to prepare and serve food to people in our community. You will deliver dishes and ensure good sanitary condition in cooking and dining premises. The goal is to provide excellent food services by following instructions and standards.

Hour

• 6:00a.m.-2:00p.m. or 11:00a.m.-7:30p.m.
• Every other weekend
• PRN-possibility

Experience

• Knowledge of sanitary standards and capabilities
• Knowledge of food preparation and cooking methods
• Flexibility: ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects at once
• Detail oriented with an ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up tables or other dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order. Serve meals according to the resident's requests. Maintain inventory of food and supplies.
• Deliver dishes and trays to designated areas as instructed. Take care of the table during mealtime so that it is clean and comfortable for the resident. Serve resident by taking their plates, setting up their food, and taking their drink refills. Serve alcoholic beverages if requested. Maintain kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, dishwashers, etc. Clean equipment by performing regular inspections and lubrications as needed. Keep kitchen area clean, by taking out trash regularly, keeping tables, chairs, tables, floors and corners clean, removing used dishes and utensils, mopping floors if needed, etc. Store all food and other items appropriately according to safety standards at designated locations. Check stock for inventory. Report any shortages or damage to supervisor or manager on arrival at work shift. Ensure all food is stored properly at designated locations according to local regulations; ensure compliance with safety standards; comply with all health & safety regulations; ensure that no food is coming out of production areas that are sanitary; ensure that there are no incidents of contamination or adulteration; ensure that there are no incidents of spoilage; ensure that there are no incidents of quality issues or safety issues at any time during production; perform any other tasks related to food service as required by the Blue Valley Lutheran Homes Society Inc. facility

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.50 - $17.00 per hour
