Retail Team Member

Retail team members are responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all customers in a friendly and helpful manner. They should be knowledgeable about books and other merchandise in the store, assist customers and provide an outstanding shopping experience. This is a physically active job involving carrying and lifting books, using step ladders, bending and squatting.

Our ideal candidate has a great attitude, a strong work ethic, and excellent time management skills, along with the ability to :

• perform basic mathematical calculations
• multitask
• meet attendance policies faithfully
• communicate effectively
• demonstrate basic computer skills with Square, Google Sheets and other software
• Practice accurate cash handling skills

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide customers with the highest level of customer service by greeting each customer, communicating and assisting with questions, orders, and efficient cashiering
• Stock the sales floor during each shift, including, but not limited to stocking books and products, straightening bookshelves and tables, sorting and scanning books, shelving books, and other housekeeping tasks as needed
• Quickly and efficiently evaluate incoming books for credit while demonstrating organizational and multitasking skills
• Maintain the retail area cleanliness, providing a clean workplace which includes dusting, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and assisting in the general maintenance of the building.
• Work well with a team of co-workers

Requirements

• Must be available to work 3-5 days a week every Wednesday - Sunday (one weekend day required) from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm (days and times may vary weekly)
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Have accurate money handling skills
• Be available for permanent, year round employment
• Must be able to stand and walk for entire shift
• Must be able to lift objects up to 40 lbs.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
