INTRODUCTION TO ROLE "Overnight Shift"
The Ranger's responsibilities are maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. They are also responsible for routine maintenance, light cleaning, and possibly collecting campground fees. Using a creative assortment of methods, assist in the promotion of recreation operations and activities to internal and external sources. This is an overnight shift!
- Seasonal roles are not eligible for health benefits. Eligible for sick time and holiday pay.

Excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to remain calm and friendly when confronted with upset visitors or problemsKnowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safetyFamiliarity with report writingExcellent surveillance and observation skillsManual dexterity and problem-solving skillsWHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, permitting entry
Obtains help by sounding alarmsPrevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, restraining trespassersEnsures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniquesAssist in the preparation of vacant rooms or cottages for new guests, including carpentry work, drywall, painting, staining, and other necessary repairs and improvements.Assist guests with whatever comes up during their stay – backing in, hooking up their camper, etc.Deliver firewood, ice, and other store itemsEnsuring that buildings and vehicles are secure at the end of the nightCommunicate with management regularly regarding issues that come up.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededEnsure the property is always clean, orderly, well-manicured, and guest-ready.P erforms other duties as assignedProvides regular and reliable attendanceWHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
The Camp Ranger reports directly to the General Manager and works closely with the Assistant General Manager and Park Staff. This role engages directly with property guests.
WHAT YOU BRING
High School Diploma or GED EquivalentMust be 18 years of age or olderBoy Scouts of America National Camp (preferred)Facilities Management experience (preferred)Trained in First Aid / BLS and self-defenseThorough knowledge of the recreation industry programs and amenitiesWillingness to work overtimeMust have a valid driver's licensePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
