INTRODUCTION TO ROLE
The Pool Bar Head Lifeguard will implement all water safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe, friendly environment. This person will actively and alertly provide supervision and support to all lifeguards; opening the facility each day and / or closing it down each evening; monitor pool-related activities closely, identify and address any safety issues; maintain a clean environment in and around the pool; assist patrons when appropriate or necessary.

Observe and correct lifeguard behaviors / performanceEnforce facility and staff rules fairly and consistentlyMaintains direct supervision of pool deckOpening / Closing duties and procedures of parkSupervises special events; Aids in setting up and taking down from events when necessarySafeguards and regulates the conduct of pool patrons. Enforces Park policies, rules, and regulations. Rescues patrons and performs appropriate follow-up procedures, including the proper use of equipment in the performance of first aid.Respond quickly, intelligently, and decisively by established emergency and accident procedures. Must be alert and actively seek to prevent accidents and eliminate risk.Must administer CPR and first aid as appropriate per accident protocols. Provides written reports on all accidents. Maintains properly updated safety requirements.Attends in-service training and instructs certain skills to staff. Provides customer service to patrons, including handling customer conflict and complaints, as necessary.Performs work safely by departmental safety procedures. Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practices to the supervisor.Must communicate with patrons professionally and courteously to answer questions, resolve conflicts and enforce park policies and rules.Always maintains leadership composure, in all circumstancesAccurately report all accidents, incidents, rescues, and contamination to the managerMaintain honest working relationships with fellow staff or supervisorsPerforms other duties as assignedProvides regular and reliable attendanceWHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
Work is performed under the general supervision of the General Manager. You will work with life guards, and guests of all ages.
WHAT YOU BRING
Must have Lifeguard Experience, Recertification can be provided by Sun Outdoors Rehoboth BayPreferred : possess a valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certificate and American Red Cross First Aid certificate or other comparable certification.Preferred : certified in American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), for the Professional Rescuer or become certified within 30 days of employmentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, swimming and cli, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
