Blue Whale Materials is an American recycling company working to retain domestic strategic materials in the United States. We are building multiple lithium-ion battery recycling facilities across the U.S., producing a domestically sourced stream of cobalt, nickel, manganese, and lithium in the first stage of a closed-loop solution for lithium-ion battery manufacturers.
Blue Whale Materials has established its first recycling plant in Bartlesville, OK. As we grow, we are seeking talented and motivated candidates to join our team. Compensation will be based on experience.
Job Summary:
The Feedstock Preparation Technician will prepare feedstock for processing including identification, sorting, disassembly, palletizing and transportation of materials. This position will attend daily staff training and perform minor maintenance work.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare feedstock including inspection, sorting, disassembly, palletizing and transport
- Work in a team to meet or exceed production and quality standards.
- Follow production schedules to meet customer demands and operational goals.
- Identify and resolve operational issues, minimizing downtime and production delays.
- Follow a strong culture of safety and ensure compliance with all relevant standards.
- Understand compliance with all environmental regulations.
- Provide regular updates to supervisors on production metrics and issues
- New operations tasks and other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use electronic devices such as a tablet or laptop
- Proficiency in reading/writing in English preferred due to safety requirements of position
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry between 50 lbs to 70 lbs
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
Education/Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing or industrial environment required
- 3 years’ experience is preferred
- Materials handling experience and prior forklift experience preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues preferred
- Understanding of safety practices, emergency response, and OSHA standards preferred
