Your Role:
We’re looking for a Director of Data & Analytics to lead our data strategy, tech stack integration, and performance insight across Blue Wheel’s marketing and commerce ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, technology, and business growth—responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights that elevate performance for our clients and our agency.
You’ll lead a team of analysts and data engineers, oversee our analytics tech infrastructure, and act as a strategic partner to our executive, media, strategy, and client services teams.
Data Strategy & Tech Leadership
- Own Blue Wheel’s data architecture and analytics roadmap across internal operations and client engagements.
- Design and scale measurement frameworks, attribution models, and reporting automation systems.
- Lead implementation and governance of tracking technologies (GTM, pixels, APIs, etc.).
- Evaluate and implement advanced analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Datorama, BigQuery, Alteryx, Python-based tools), data sources, and other tech relevant to clients’ business.
Insights & Performance Optimization
- Translate raw data into strategic recommendations to improve media, creative, and commerce performance.
- Guide the development of dashboards, reports, and forecasting models to support decision-making.
- Drive test-and-learn frameworks, A/B testing, and media mix modeling across full-funnel campaigns.
- Deliver sophisticated analytics on lifetime value (LTV), retention, audience segmentation, customer journeys, and multi-touch attribution.
Team Building & Leadership
- Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of analysts and data professionals.
- Establish a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and innovation across data disciplines.
- Partner with cross-functional leads to foster data fluency and embed analytics into daily operations.
Client & Business Impact
- Serve as a senior strategic advisor to clients and internal teams.
- Lead analytics strategy for new business pitches, translating complex insights into persuasive storytelling.
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth through new tools, services, or data monetization strategies.
What You Bring
- 10 years in digital marketing analytics, data science, or marketing technology leadership—preferably in a media agency, market research, or consulting company setting.
- Deep knowledge of digital campaign performance tracking across paid search, social, marketplaces, and ecommerce platforms in both DTC and B2B settings.
- Proven experience with analytics systems including GA4, GTM, Looker Studio, Power BI, Datorama, SQL, and BigQuery.
- Demonstrated understanding of Audience work, and value of 1/2/3PD use cases across strategy, activation, measurement.
- Experience with cross-channel measurement and attribution.
- Track record of building and leading high-performing data teams and analytics functions.
- Strong command of statistical methods, experimental design, and data storytelling.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills—comfortable presenting to C-suite and clients alike.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on capabilities and a bias toward action and innovation.
