Event Coordinator

Blue Zoo is an interactive aquarium in Oklahoma focused on providing families and individuals a fun and educational experience! Our guests can touch and feed stingrays, birds and reptiles, see sharks, clownfish, angelfish, enjoy play equipment, and water play tables! Not only can guests enjoy the animals but we also host events where meeting Mermaids, Pirates and attending dive shows are all part of the fun.

This is a full time position and is primarily responsible for planning and booking birthday parties, gender reveals, proposals, corporate and after-hour events, plus brainstorming and creating signature aquarium events with the marketing team. Even though you will be based at our aquarium and report to the store manager, you will work closely with the corporate marketing team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build field trip tour curriculum

• Providing positive interactions with each customer, every time

• Answer and event phone calls

• Plan Summer Camp correspondence and implementation

• Design new party theme options

• Build relationships with speciality event catering companies/decor companies

• Streamline events through the website

• Create email templates for events

• Plan thank you messages and important information to be posted on our Facebook page for events

• Have a flexible schedule to attend before/ after hour events

• Responsible for bidding on Eventective leads

• Contact leads using a list of Businesses/ homeschool groups/ college sororities/ Camp/ high school information/ email and phone numbers that marketing has researched

• Collect content for marketing to help promote different types of events

• Assist with the transition of field trips/party hosting/ordering supplies to onsite managers

• Research new/additional clients, to increase new sales

• Creating a contact list for all important event related contacts

• Build a standardized pricing sheet

• Assist the managers as needed

• Responsible for correspondence between clients and managers on location.

• Responsible for up-selling, and closing the sale

• Add/correct information to the calendar

• Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Qualifications:

• 1-3 years minimum experience in event planning

• Customer Service experience

• Social media experience, personally or professionally

• Consistent access to a reliable computer, mobile device, and internet

Not required but a plus:

• Photography/videography experience

• Graphic art experience

• Knowledge of digital marketing

• Media knowledge, including YouTube

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
