Warehouse Manager

Location: Holly Springs, NC

Reports To: Business Owner

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Warehouse Manager to lead and oversee our pick and pack operations, returns and repair management, and overall inventory management for an e-Retail Distributor. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a smooth and efficient warehouse operation, including the physical handling of inventory using forklift equipment. Knowledge and experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) are essential for this role, ensuring all processes from stock management to order fulfillment are optimized and tracked accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

Pick and Pack Operations Management:

• Oversee the daily operations of pick and pack, ensuring orders are processed and shipped efficiently and accurately.
• Develop and implement best practices to streamline the pick and pack process while reducing errors and improving productivity.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely processing and fulfillment of customer orders.

Returns and Repair Management:

• Supervise the returns process, ensuring that returned goods are inspected, documented, and either restocked, refurbished, or sent for repair as needed.
• Work closely with the repair team to manage defective inventory, track the repair status, and ensure items are returned to stock promptly after repair.
• Collaborate with customer service and quality control teams to address and resolve issues related to product returns and repairs.

Inventory Management & Control:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory levels through effective tracking, including using WMS for inventory control, cycle counts, and reconciliation of stock discrepancies.
• Ensure inventory is organized, well-maintained, and readily accessible for both operational efficiency and inventory accuracy.
• Monitor inventory turnover and stock levels to optimize storage, reduce wastage, and prevent stockouts or overstocking.

Forklift Operations & Physical Inventory Handling:

• Operate forklifts to safely load, unload, and move goods within the warehouse, ensuring proper handling and storage.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure physical counts align with WMS data.
• Oversee the safe operation of all warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools.

Warehouse Management Systems (WMS):

• Utilize WMS software to track inventory movements, manage orders, and monitor warehouse operations.
• Ensure WMS is properly configured and aligned with operational needs; troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the system.
• Train and guide warehouse staff on how to effectively use WMS for inventory management and order processing.

Team Leadership & Staff Management:

• Lead and manage a team of warehouse associates, ensuring high levels of productivity, safety, and quality.
• Provide regular training on warehouse procedures, WMS usage, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
• Manage employee schedules, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure all warehouse activities adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, training, and enforce safety standards to maintain a safe work environment.
• Monitor compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including OSHA standards.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• Proven experience in warehouse management, with a strong focus on pick and pack, returns and repairs, and inventory management.
• Extensive knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), with the ability to manage and troubleshoot WMS-related issues.
• Valid forklift certification and experience with forklift operations in a warehouse setting.

Skills:

• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce.
• Proficient in WMS software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to [weight limit, e.g., 50 lbs]) and perform physical tasks including bending, reaching, and standing for long periods.
• Comfortable operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery.

Working Hours:

Mon-Friday 8-5, with exception weekends as needed
