Job Description:
This expansion role is for a Network Engineer (MTS III) in the Midwest area to perform on-site and project-based consulting with an enterprise customer to implement and support Cisco-based networks. This is a full-time position with one of our customers deploying Cisco network devices at multiple sites in the central and western parts of the US. When not required to be on the client sites, you will work from home, but you MUST be willing to travel up to 50% to be considered for this role.
In this role, you will:
- Implement, troubleshoot, and document enterprise networks and related systems
- Provide knowledge transfer and informal training to clients
- Lead changes and serve as the point-of-contact for onsite vendors during change implementation
- Coordinate with on-site customer leads for implementation planning
What you need to succeed:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) level expertise in Enterprise Infrastructure (formerly Route/Switch), (enterprise wireless and collaboration are welcome as well - let's talk)
- Demonstrable experience in the implementation, troubleshooting and support of large enterprise networks
- Good understanding and practical experience with routing protocols (EIGRP, OSFP, and BGP)
- Good understanding and practical experience with switching technologies (Spanning tree, EtherChannel, Port Security, 802.1X, MAB)
- Good understanding and practical experience with facility cabling layouts and low-voltage wiring plants
- Willingness and ability to travel 50%
Desirable:
- Strongly prefer experience with the implementation of Cisco based wireless network infrastructure
- Familiarity with Virtual Private Network (VPN) and firewall technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Check Point, etc)
Salary : $85,000 - $110,000
