Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support in a fast-paced environment, particularly within a Level II Trauma Center. This role involves assisting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring that all administrative and clinical tasks are performed efficiently and accurately.
Duties
- Perform medical administrative support tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
- Assist in emergency medicine procedures and provide support in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) as needed.
- Measure and record vital signs accurately, ensuring that all patient information is up-to-date.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare staff and document patient interactions.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and ensuring a comfortable experience for patients.
- Demonstrate knowledge of physiology to assist in patient assessments and care planning.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the hospital environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Skills
- Proficient in medical administrative support functions, with experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols and procedures is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of vital signs measurement techniques and the ability to interpret results.
- Knowledge of medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Excellent patient service skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism at all times.
