Bluebird Landscapes is a woman-owned fine gardening firm in Charlottesville, Virginia. We are a growing business and we seek to hire two full time gardeners to our crew!
We are a cheerful and outdoorsy group, and we work together to provide customized fine gardening services to residential clients in and around Charlottesville. Gardening and horticultural experience is a plus for this job, but not required – we are happy to train and develop skills in the right candidate. Opportunities for advancement are available to hardworking and dedicated candidates as the company grows.
Our garden specialties include container gardening, dahlia, rose and boxwood care, skilled weeding, watering and pruning, perennial and annual care, and seasonal plantings and decorations. We do not cut grass, spray chemicals, or do tree work. This is a year-round position and our winter services include holiday decorations, fine pruning, edging and mulching. We work Monday through Thursday, 8:30am-5:00pm, with a 30 minute break for lunch each day (this is a 32 hour work week). Additional hours are typically also available on Fridays after training in our methods and on our properties. All tools are provided and all work is done out of Bluebird trucks.
The requirements for this job are:
- Strong interest in horticulture, gardening and working outside
- Ability to work a physical job walking, carrying, lifting and bending all day as we work!
- Cheerful approach
- Reliability
- Driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willingness to work outside in all weather including summer heat and winter cold

Pay begins at $20-$22 per hour with raises possible as the candidate gets to know our methods and properties, and shows dedication and reliability.
