Operations Manager is responsible for addressing guest concerns in a timely and appropriate manner; creating a face and a connection to our guests and the Hotel. This position requires an individual to actively participate throughout the property on a daily basis. The Operations Manager  works as part of a team to deliver hospitable service that is attentive, friendly, efficient and courteous, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy. The Operations Manager is primarily responsible for the Front Desk, Billing, and property management system consistency (training and auditing) and oversight of the retail store and vending room.

Responsibilities:
  • The high quality care, well-being and overall recognition of our guests. Making sure that each guest experience exceeds expectations. Interfacing with guests on a daily basis and resolving any concerns that may arise.
  • When presented with guest issues, work together with the team to resolve issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner with focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Directly oversee the Front Desk, Reservations, Food and Beverage Dept and Billing.
  • Responsible for the direct supervision of any above departmental employees while working in conjunction with the General Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure resolution to any and all employee related challenges or concerns. All while adhering to the property and Lark Hotels policies.
  • Hiring, training, coaching and counseling and disciplining departmental personnel. Ensure all employee paperwork is filled out and communicated appropriately.
  • Provide all daily, weekly and monthly departmental reports as required.
  • Maximize room revenue with strong selling practices. Provide creative thinking to constantly improve the Inn’s product and service. Maintain all rates, packages and promotions so that they are current and relevant online and in Clock.
  • Ensure the collection and accountability of all revenues that interact with the front desk.
  • Maintains effective and efficient communication between the Front Desk and all other departments, and ensures all relevant personnel have knowledge of groups and events.
  • Ensure Front Desk staff has working knowledge of constantly changing promotions, rates, room and property descriptions.
  • Plan, design, and direct work, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Elevate employee performance through motivation, encouragement and timely and direct feedback.
  • Promote proper orientation, job and safety training.
  • Foster a positive and cooperative work environment between staff and management. Maintain effective and efficient communication across departments.
  • Maintain two weeks of departmental schedules. Practice fiscal responsibility in scheduling while always balancing the needs of the guest to hotel occupancies and labor budget.
  • Perform monthly inventories of supply needs and ensure that departmental supplies are always on hand and balanced to the needs of the hotel.
  • Control departmental operating expenses through good practice, awareness, and controls.
  • Proper maintenance, operation, and training of all departmental systems including Clock, credit card terminals, printers, copiers, telephones, and time-clock. Learn basic hotel maintenance in order to troubleshoot.
  • Communicate consistently with the GM and department heads on the status of operations and guest concerns.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties to ensure that the appearance of front desk and lobby areas is according to property specifications. This may include assisting in the laundry or helping occasionally with housekeeping.
  • Help to inspect guest rooms (and correct any deficiencies) to ensure they are consistent with Lark Hotels standards.
  • Promote positive morale and environment through mentoring, counseling, and leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned by the GM and Lark Hotels.
  • 40  hours per week.
  • Assists GM with monthly inventories of food and beverage products.
Qualifications:
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States of America.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, conveying information and ideas clearly.
  • Proficient in a Mac environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Clock or similar Property Management System.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Be able to work with a variety of colleagues and guests.
  • Be able to take and give directions.
  • Must be neat, courteous, flexible, and extremely detail oriented.
  • Must enjoy and be able to meet the public with poise.
  • Ability to remain calm, courteous, and professional with demanding guests and in difficult situations.
  • Must be able to show initiative in job performance, including the anticipation of what needs to be done before it becomes necessary.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines.
  • A team player who is flexible and willing to help support the property and Lark Hotels goals and the ability to support other hotels rooms operations.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule that is dictated by our guest demand and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
  • 2-3 plus years of experience in the hotel division and Food and Beverage program with increasing responsibilities.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends.
