Job Summary
A Journeyman Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in commercial, and industrial settings. They must be knowledgeable in state and local plumbing codes and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Install and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fittings, valves, and fixtures
- Perform routine maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure proper functioning
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues to determine the best course of action
- Interpret blueprints and building codes to ensure compliance during installation and repairs
- Collaborate with other professionals (such as electricians and HVAC technicians) on construction and renovation projects
- Maintain and repair water heaters, gas lines, and irrigation systems
- Train and supervise apprentices and other plumbing staff as necessary
