Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at our detox facility. In this role, you will work closely with individuals undergoing detoxification and recovery, including those with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, to implement behavior management strategies and support their medical and therapeutic needs. You will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through evidence-based interventions and compassionate care.
Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional, such as a psychiatrist, psychologist, or clinical director.
- Collect and analyze data on client behaviors, including withdrawal symptoms and triggers, to track progress and adjust strategies as needed.
- Provide direct support to clients in various clinical and residential settings, fostering independence, emotional regulation, and skill development.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring comfort and safety during the detoxification process.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and client interactions in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical professionals, therapists, addiction counselors, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care and coordinated treatment.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in behavioral health management, addiction care, and therapeutic support.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Behavioral health, social work, addiction counseling, or related fields
- Data collection methodologies for clinical or therapeutic settings
- Working with individuals undergoing substance use detoxification and recovery
- Experience with behavior management techniques, particularly in high-stress, clinical environments
- Understanding of co-occurring disorders, such as substance use disorders and mental health conditions
- Knowledge of PTSD, trauma-informed care, and crisis management
- Familiarity with maintaining medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care during the detoxification process and beyond
