Overview
We are seeking a Pipefitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems in various settings, including commercial and industrial environments. This role requires a strong understanding of codes and standards, as well as the ability to read and interpret schematics. The Pipefitter will work with various materials and tools to ensure that all systems function efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Install and assemble piping systems according to specifications and blueprints.
- Maintain existing piping systems by performing repairs and replacements as needed.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, bending, and welding pipes.
- Ensure compliance with local codes and standards throughout all work processes.
- Read and interpret schematics to determine the layout of piping systems.
- Perform stick welding as required for pipe connections.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues within piping systems.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to coordinate installation efforts.
Experience
- Familiarity with calipers and other measuring tools for precise measurements.
- Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards governing pipefitting work.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and material quantities.
