Position Summary:
We are seeking an Engineer – Advanced Manufacturing to adopt, integrate, and innovate new technologies in support of the Navy’s 1 2 mission. Under the general supervision of the relevant Technical/Portfolio Manager, the position contributes directly to technology innovation, incubation, development and demonstration to advance current and future Advanced Manufacturing technologies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports all aspects of development and documentation from ideation through technical feasibility, development, test, and validation.
- Provides inputs to component and system design, assembly and operation during conceptual and preliminary design stages to ensure a system level approach is fulfilled in developing technology solutions.
- Ensures regular communication with cross-functional engineering teams to maintain an understanding of project requirements and specifications.
- Collaborates with users and principal investigators on design, analysis, application, and reporting of research projects; provides technical leadership and technique consultation.
- Assists with topic research, preparing analyses, reports, and the preparation of materials for grant proposals to obtain funding in support of research activities.
- Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
- Actively seeks out various educational and training opportunities to keep current and demonstrate continuous growth.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
