Job Summary
The Procurement Analyst is responsible for analyzing the impact of LTL rate proposals on both existing and new small revenue opportunities and resolving rate discrepancies. The role will ensure all linehaul, accessorial, fuel and margin items are accurately accounted for in the analysis and loaded in the system correctly.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Perform Rating Analysis Request and present results to sales team
- Interpret carrier tariffs and rate appendices to identify issues with loading and resolve rate discrepancies
- Perform testing and auditing as needed to achieve a high load accuracy percentage
- Work closely with carriers to address any questions or problems
- Stay up to date on carrier changes and ensure timely responses to requests
- Communicate effectively with other BlueGrace departments to support the overall sales process
- Maintain existing reports to track progress and look for improvements
- Perform ad-hoc projects as requested
- Support the overall task of carrier sourcing
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree mandatory
- 1-3 years of experience in transportation, third party logistics or freight forwarding
- Knowledge of the LTL and TL industry
- Strong analytical skills
- Effective communicator with both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong project management capabilities
- Innovative thinker with an ability to adapt to change
- Organized and a task-oriented thinking with creative tendencies
- Possess a sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, most importantly Excel
- Demonstrated ability to work productively and effectively in a team environment
