The Diesel Technician, under the direction of the Fleet Maintenance Manager, monitors the condition of tractor trailer equipment and ensures that all company equipment is maintained in accordance with company and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
Requirements
Some of your Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair fleet equipment including diesel trucks, sprinter vans and trailers
- Ensures efficient and safe operation of the fleet
- Coordinates and completes preventive maintenance needs
- Manages the inventory of parts and supplies
- Optimizes the resources of both the customer and of Bluegrass
- Inventories and inspects supplies
- Verifies and audits paperwork for accuracy.
- Continually improves processes
You’ll also need to have:
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
- Flexibility and the capacity to handle a wide range of situations ·
- Ability to enter, interpret and record data in written and electronic formats

Education and Experience:
- 1 years of hands on, heavy truck/fleet maintenance experience or recent graduate of a certified diesel mechanic school
- Diesel certification is highly preferred
- Candidates must provide their own tools (up to 1” in size)
- Expert knowledge of DOT regulations for shipper, receiver and transporter and strong aptitude and knowledge of transportation and safety regulations
