DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: Including but not limited to, the following:
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Human Resources Manager role is responsible for all aspects of the HR function for both onsite and remote employees across multiple locations, and has a hands-on approach to projects and daily tasks. The HR Manager will report to the Vice President of HR with strong dotted line reporting to plant manager(s) and will supervise and provide guidance to HR staff. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Uses a strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws in order to administer and/or oversee HR programs and activities, including full-cycle recruiting, benefits, leave administration, compensation, employee relations, and training, ensuring compliance with DOL, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, EEOC, company policies, etc.
- Champion a dynamic ‘attract and retain’ talent strategy while working closely with HR leadership in administering new policies, programs, and initiatives in performance, benefits, compensation, etc.
- Support operational and production goals by leveraging HR data and working closely with plant management to understand workforce needs; partner with staffing agencies, local workforce boards, and represent Bluegrass Ingredients as a good community partner and employer of choice.
- Manage employee relations, seeking timely resolution of issues. Counsel and advise management on work-related issues including performance, disciplinary matters, separations, ensuring legal compliance, interpretation of/and consistent application of policies and procedures.
- Maintain a strong and visible presence onsite, fostering open communication, trust, and accessibility for employees at all levels. Participates in meetings, engages with team members to understand concerns, provide support, and reinforce a positive workplace culture
- Oversees hourly and salary payroll processing and recordkeeping
- Recommends, develops, and oversees company and employee activities that promote positive, productive work environments
- Partner with Safety, Operations, and Plant Management to create and promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Supervises HR staff and conducts provides performance evaluations and feedback. Oversees scheduling, cross-functional training and daily workflow of direct reports.
- Ability to travel up to 10-15% travel
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, I/O, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience supporting HR in a manufacturing environment.
- 3 years of supervisory experience
- HR Certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to function as a collaborative team leader and self-starter.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate to all-levels of employees
- Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills
Physical and Environmental:
- Prolonged periods of sitting, frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, kneeling, reaching, twisting, lifting, climbing stairs, and carrying up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at organization’s facilities
- Environmental Demands:
- Noise Levels above 80 DBA.
- Hot and cold working conditions.
