REPORT TO: General Manager

WORKING HOURS: Full Time, Shift may vary, Overtime as needed

POSITION SUMMARY: This position will oversee and monitor all operations, functions, and employees working in the plant. This will be done in a professional manner, paying special attention to production, employee issues, quality, communication, safety, and concerns the overall efficiency of our plant
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Including, but not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for smooth operation of entire production process including receiving, evaporating, drying, and bagging
- Oversee all production aspects of the plant and production workers.
- Responsible for all product produced on their shift
- Responsible for all incoming raw materials received on their shift
- Guides and directs warehouse staff when necessary
- Ensures all products are manufactured according to instructions
- Ensures all testing parameters are met and documented.
- Responsible for all personnel issues during their shift
- Perform supervisor checklist daily and in timely manner; notify the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor on any equipment not working properly and follow through to ensure that the issue is resolved in timely manner.
- Perform and oversee CIP checks are followed
- Supervise all sanitation of equipment and plant to ensure all is done correctly.
- Confirm wastewater pit is operating correctly
- Ensure all safety procedures are being properly followed
- Train all employees and all records are kept up to date/
PRODUCTION / SERVICE

Train, retain, develop, and monitor all employees that work in all departments.
- Responsible to provide training/cross training of employees
- Complete weekly schedules understanding efficient/effective use of man-hours to control overtime.
- Ensure products are being produced to company and customer specifications. Review data to ensure that processes are capable of meeting customer expectations.
- Hold people accountable to doing their jobs.

Responsible for scheduling and maintaining an accurate and efficient inventory system.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of finished goods,
- Work with other departments in ordering, receiving, and monitoring the usage of materials, ingredients, chemicals, and supplies

Call in and follow up on the prompt issuance and completion of work orders.
- Work with maintenance on a preventative maintenance program

- Troubleshoot to improve overall efficiency.
- Be on call and come into the plant as needed, which may include any time outside of the normal shift and weekends.

- Responsible for identifying and addressing any food safety hazards or quality threats. In the event that a food safety hazard or quality threat is identified, the employee is to notify their supervisor, a member of Quality, or a member of the Leadership Team. Employees are empowered to immediately address a food safety hazard or quality threats if they have the ability.

- Emphasize, train, and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- Enforce and train employees on all company and department policies and procedures, including attendance, safety, and discipline.
- Promptly report occurrences observed or addressed during this shift to the proper department head and/or plant manager.
- Continually monitor progress, performance, and capabilities of staff with consistent and realistic expectations.

SAFETY- Be an active participant in loss control and food safety.
- Actively participate in the HAZMAT team and training, at a minimum for the operations level.

Promote safety, support, help solve, and understand all company safety policies and practices.
- Daily monitor plant conditions to create and maintain a “safe working environment”.
- Conscientiously look for solutions and root causes to first reports of injury and near misses
- Make recommendations for possible engineering controls or any other way to prevent future incidents.
- Enforce all safety policies fair and consistently; investigate fact not fault.
- Update, monitor, and keep current all LOTO, confined space, forklift, and other safety programs.
- Oversee for proper completion of all work comp reports that occur during this shift, investigate, and be the person in charge of taking the employee to the hospital, if needed.
- Be able to prioritize and timely process work orders as they relate to safety concerns.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Certificates and/or Licenses RequiredThe warehouse supervisor must understand (GMP) good manufacturing practices, (HACCP) hazard analysis critical control points, must work well with individuals, must be a team player at all levels of the organization, and must be willing to accept, at the operations level, a main role on the company emergency response team. Prior management experience is preferred, but not required, depending on other qualifications.
ACCOUNTABILITY:In the absence of the Plant Supervisor, the Plant Lead Man will be responsible for all plant supervisor duties.
