Bluegrass Retina Consultants is seeking to add a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) to our team. Responsibilities
The COA/COT is responsible for a wide variety of tasks to prepare the patient to see the physician, and to assist the physician in providing quality and compassionate care. These duties include obtaining a complete and accurate medical history, eliciting a chief complaint, performing appropriate testing, preparing patients for procedures, among others. COAs/COTs should always maintain a professional attitude with patients and coworkers. Performs highly satisfying work of helping to save and restore patients’ vision!
A good candidate for this position would be detail-oriented, flexible, and would take pride in their work.
Job Requirements
Must be a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Certified Ophthalmic Technician. Knowledge of ophthalmology, including anatomy, terminology, and use of ophthalmic equipment. Knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records. Must be observant of details. Must observe strict patient confidentiality. Must be reliable. Must be a team member. Requires pleasant, friendly, compassionate, patient personality to work with coworkers and the public.
