Shift Supervisor - 2nd shift

Responsibility & Authority
The Supervisor reports to the Manager and leads the development, implementation, and application of Bluegrass and customer’s production and warehouse systems in demanding manufacturing and warehousing environments. The Supervisor must have the ability to work with customers, team members, suppliers and with Accounting and Human Resources on various aspects of multiple projects. The Supervisor must have strong training and interpersonal communication skills in order to establish and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally. The Supervisor may be asked to assist with all aspects of the operation. For this location, the Supervisor must have a minimum of 1 year recent forklift experience.

Minimum Position Requirements (Skills & Abilities)
- Lead and continually develop teams members
- Minimum 1 year of recent forklift experience
- Drivers license must be valid - not expired or suspended
- Perform on-site Forklift observations
- Support and assist with cause investigations and track corrective action with Human Resources
- Ensure that safety, delivery and quality standards are being met at all times
- Maintain professional communication with customers and team members
- Communicate supply and material needs in order to ensure efficiencies
- Identify proper channels of escalation and communicate needs when needed
- Track attendance of the team members
- Prepare and deliver accurate shift reports to the designated group following each shift
- Coach and monitor discipline for all team members and team leads
- Solid understanding of manufacturing or warehousing processes and demands
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure while managing customer demands and deadlines
- Experience managing teams in a production or warehouse environment
- Experience with a broad variety of inspection, production or warehouse techniques
- Ability to train new team members on all aspects within our facility
- Remain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances
- Own assignments and be self-accountable
- Hold team members accountable for performance
- Communicate clearly with strong written and verbal skills
- Knowledge of MS office programs with strong knowledge of Excel
- Able to perform repetitious duties while standing for long periods of time (up to 12 or more hours per shift)
Physical Demands
A Supervisor can work in any range of environments, from a climate-controlled space to a warehouse or production floor where temperatures can vary from extreme cold to extreme heat. Supervisors must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours) on unpadded floors and will continuously be required to bend, reach overhead, crouch, kneel, push/pull and grasp. Additionally, Supervisors will routinely be required to lift or carry up to 30 - 50 lbs. Eye/hand coordination and repetitive use of both hands/arms is required. Exposure to chemical hazards, electrical hazards, sharp objects/tools, noise and vibration are anticipated.
Tools & Equipment Used
- Sit down forklifts, battery and propane powered
- Handheld scanning devices and other data collection tools
- Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point and WMS inventory management systems
- Various production tools, including upholstery repair instruments and those powered by air pressure
- Radios, mirrors, flashlights, micrometers, tape measures, dyes, paints, chemical cleaners, rulers, gauges, micrometers, calipers, hand tools, power tools, air tools, steel toed footwear, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, and any other tools and equipment required per customer request
- Pallet jacks
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a logistics related field is preferred.
Work Experience
Minimum 2 years in a Leadership role in a Warehouse or Manufacturing environment.
