Job Summary:
The Director of Brand and Product Marketing will lead the strategic development, execution, and management of Bluemercury's brand identity, product marketing initiatives, and go-to-market strategies. This role will play a key part in amplifying Bluemercury’s brand story, driving product innovation, and ensuring a seamless alignment of marketing initiatives with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in brand management, product marketing, and leading cross-functional teams in beauty, lifestyle, or luxury industries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overall brand strategy:
- Lead the development and execution of Bluemercury’s brand strategy to strengthen brand equity and visibility across all touchpoints
- Oversee brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity, ensuring brand consistency across marketing channels, campaigns, and retail experiences
- Lead the go-to-market strategy for new products, including market research, pricing strategies, positioning, and launch plans
- Collaborate with product development and merchandising teams to ensure that product offerings align with consumer trends and brand positioning
General responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive marketing calendar, aligning all brand and product marketing initiatives with key business objectives, product launches, seasonal campaigns, and promotional strategies
- Conduct ongoing consumer research, analyze competitive landscapes, and monitor category trends to inform marketing and product strategies
- Collaborate with product development and design teams to develop compelling concept briefs for new product launches, ensuring that marketing strategies align with product vision and consumer needs
- Lead the development of packaging briefs that ensure packaging designs are on-brand, compelling, and communicate key product benefits
- Develop detailed marketing briefs that provide clear direction on marketing objectives, target demographics, key messaging, and deliverables for all campaigns
- Oversee the visual direction of campaigns, including photography, video content, digital assets, and creative executions, ensuring brand consistency and creative excellence
- Presentation guidelines for M-61 and C6- sell unit strategy for L A
- Support marketing needs for wholesale partnerships (pitch decks, paperwork, assets, influencers and brand collab guideline)
- Main point of contact for agency partners
Budget:
- Manage the marketing budget for product launches and ongoing campaigns, ensuring that projects are completed within allocated budgets
- Responsible for communicating print projects for new consolidated print budget
- Provide regular reporting on budget performance, campaign effectiveness, and ROI, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve financial goals
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred
- 9 years’ work experience, preferably in marketing, vendor marketing, or merchandising
- 3 years’ managerial experience
- Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Ability to navigate a complex organization and present to all levels of Corporate Office and Field Leadership
- Possess a hands-on approach while being collaborative and a self-starter
- Ability to self-pace, follow-through and keep partners on schedule
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent team player & people manager
- High threshold for working in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment- figuring it out and adapting as you go
- Ability to think outside-of-the-box
