We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Merchandise Planner, to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing merchandise plans that align with the company’s overall financial objectives. You will collaborate cross-functionally with buying, marketing, and operations teams to ensure the right product assortment, inventory levels, and pricing strategies are in place to drive sales and maximize profitability. The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker, a strong communicator, and has a deep understanding of the luxury beauty industry and retail merchandising.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and Allocation:
- Develop category/brand level financial plans to achieve sales, inventory, and profit goals
- Manage monthly category OTB process
- Maintain brand level in-season sales and inventory forecasts
- Analyze stock to sales ratio by item and identify risks and opportunities
- Make recommendations for key financial decisions to maximize sales, margin, and inventory productivity
- Responsible for the quantification of the buy from initial launch to in-season flow
- Responsible for allocations of specific category
- Develop and maintain ad-hoc reporting tools to support business needs
- Review and provide hindsight for leadership and cross functional partners
- Collaborate with merchant team to execute strategic vision with financial plans
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels across all channels to ensure stock is optimized for both stores and e-commerce
- Partner with supply chain and operations to identify opportunities for stock replenishment, distribution, and order fulfillment improvements
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Drive cross-functional partnerships with merchandise and marketing teams
- Build relationships with vendor partners and be able to lead sales and inventory discussions
- Communicate effectively with internal and external partners
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a retail environment with company-wide operational responsibilities is required.
- Education: A bachelor's degree is required, and an advanced degree is welcome.
- Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills are a must, with the ability to effectively engage with various levels within the organization.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and project management skills, along with the ability to cultivate robust relationships, are essential.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset are crucial.
- Multi-Tasking: Capable of independently managing multiple projects, timelines, priorities, and expectations concurrently.
- Technology: Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is required. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.
