Sushi Chef Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sushi Chef to join our team at Bluenami. The successful candidate will be responsible for the production of all food in our sushi bar, including sushi roll making, special orders, nigiri, and sashimi.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook high-quality Japanese cuisine, including sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and food safety
- Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and ensuring smooth service operations
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to guest requests and resolving any complaints or issues
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of experience preparing and presenting Japanese cuisine
- Extensive product knowledge and familiarity with local or unique ingredients
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic, with ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent critical thinking, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and dining room personnel
Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, and using hands to handle and prepare food. The successful candidate must be able to perform these tasks regularly, with occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling required.
