Job Title: Workforce and Youth Services Coordinator
Hours: Full-Time 40 hours
Compensation: Salary, based on experience: $47,500 - $50,000 annually
Purpose and Program Summary:
As the Workforce and Youth Services Coordinator, you will serve as the primary liaison between SummerWorks staff, participants, and employers. This role involves building a network of business relationships to support private and subsidized employment opportunities for participants aged 16-21. Working under Blueprint 502, the contractor for SummerWorks, the program focuses on providing critical skills through early workplace exposure, addressing the decline in the youth workforce participation rate. This comprehensive program includes youth leadership skills development through training, counseling, job placements, and extracurricular activities.
**Specific Duties:**
1. Engage with Private employer partners to ensure commitment to the SummerWorks employment process.
2. Identify and recruit new Private Champion employers.
3. Manage and create reports on company profiles.
4. Develop strategies with employers to maximize the candidate referral process for application, interview, and hiring processes.
5. Track and report on the ongoing engagement, referral, and hiring of SummerWorks youth, addressing barriers for employers and youth to meet employment and hiring needs.
6. Coordinate Youth Hiring events.
7. Attend KentuckianaWorks Business Services Team meetings.
8. Provide weekly reports with the number of employers contacted and metrics to support successful job recruitment.
9. Coordinate with the KentuckianaWorks manager to cultivate the participation of Private employers on the EARNS platform.
10. Attend bi-monthly JCPS Academies of Louisville meetings to support youth registration and placement in career pathway jobs.
11. Work in the EARNS platform for private and sponsored employers.
**Additional Youth Services Coordinator Responsibilities:**
1. Develop effective strategies to recruit and cultivate the participation of opportunity youth into SummerWorks through a wide network of Community Partners.
2. Coordinate with JCPS summer learning programs to ensure accurate onboarding of youth for employment.
3. Collect data, monitor, and maintain accurate records of outreach efforts and produce reports for monthly departmental and organizational annual reports.
4. Coordinate, recruit employers, and host job fairs to support youth seeking employment and career development.
5. Teach soft skills training, resume writing, and interview skills to program registrants.
6. Document the training provided to youth in soft skills and work readiness training and maintain an ongoing report of these youth and their employment experiences.
7. Assist with the development of departmental performance benchmarks and measurements.
8. Communicate with Youth Registrants, Adult Contacts, and/or Community Partners to update missing or incorrect data.
9. Become familiar with Sponsored and Private job descriptions to guide registrants to job opportunities based on completed youth profiles and job readiness.
10. Manage communication with the payroll provider to ensure accurate information for Sponsored Youth Workers.
11. Create training for professional development and orientation with Employers, Youth, and Job Coaches.
12. Update and present orientation training to all youth, Site supervisors, and Job Coaches.
13. Coordinate and communicate with Job Coaches to ensure successful work placements throughout the summer.
14. Represent Blueprint 502 and the SummerWorks programs professionally in the community.
15. Participate in training/PD/conferences, SummerWorks meetings and events, Blueprint 502 meetings and events, and community meetings and events as determined by the Operations Manager.
**Minimum Education Required:**
Bachelor’s Degree or combined experience in workforce development, fundraising, business services, counseling, education, human resources, or a related field.
