Position:
We are currently seeking an entry-level Applications Engineer at our South Chesterfield, VA location.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Prepare proposals and technical documents for prospective clients in regard to different technologies including design, pricing, and customer specifications.
- Daily maintenance of CRM.
- Maintain standard pricing structure.
- Consults with the engineering department for non-standard applications.
- Communicate with customers both internally and externally.
- Communicate with suppliers.
- Optimize product lines for specific technologies in regard to both cost and technical perspectives. This includes researching new technologies and advancements and implementing them as applicable.
- Review customer specifications.
- Represents BPA at relevant industry trade shows.
- Travel up to 15% may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related discipline, a combination of experience, and/or education will be taken into consideration.
- AutoCAD required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Experience with ABB and Fanuc robots preferred.
- Experience with AB control platforms preferred.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
- Forward-thinking
- Strong networking capabilities fostering the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Applicants must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
