Position:
BluePrint Automation is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Helper in our South Chesterfield, VA location
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.
- Perform ongoing maintenance like changing light bulbs, clearing gutters and drains, installing signs, and the like.
- Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all areas of a facility.
- Perform minor building, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary.
- Implement preventative maintenance measures.
- Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
- Troubleshoot and help determine appropriate repairs, replacing defective parts as needed.
- Report defects, damage, and malfunctions of any kind to the Facilities Manager.
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace.
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of the facility and repair of industrial machinery and electrical equipment.
- Monitor and assist outside contractors as required.
- Follow established safety rules and regulations.
- Up to 25% travel may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience in facility maintenance. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred, but not required.
- Basic mechanical and plumbing knowledge is required.
- Ability to identify technical defects in electrical units and other equipment in a facility.
- Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines and coordinate work functions with fellow workers.
- Analytical, logical thought process and meticulous attention to detail.
- Able to lift and carry 50-75 pounds and stand for an eight (8) to ten (10) hour work shift.
- Committed to quality, safety and communication.
- Team-oriented and self-directed.
- Flexible and able to adapt to change based on work demands.
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including lawnmowers, small hand tools, etc.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures.
