Welder -2nd Shift

Position:

We are currently seeking 2^nd shift Welders for our South Chesterfield, VA location. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

• Weld and layout parts to specification. 
• Keep welding equipment clean and operational. 
• Weld components MIG or TIG. 
• Use handheld plasma, acetylene torches, grinders, and drill presses. 
• Work closely with co-workers, assembly, and engineering team members.  
• Work with the Service Manager, on Service and Aftermarket related topics that require immediate fabrication. 
• Welding parts to specification. 
• Follows established fabrication procedures and standards. 
• Working toward the job priorities. 
• Other duties as assigned  
   

Qualifications: 

• A minimum of a high school diploma plus 1-3 years of experience in a welding shop environment is required. However, a combination of education and experience will be taken into consideration.  
• Journeyman card preferred. 
• Demonstrated ability to adjust amperage and welding wire feed values for various materials. 
• Demonstrated understanding of fixturing set-up. 
• Ability to read and understand prints and tolerances. 
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as tape measures and calipers. 
• Ability to determine the sequence of operations to efficiently weld parts from start to finish. 
• Ability to determine appropriate bracing and temporary supports of the structural build. 
• Demonstrated understanding of basic welding implements- horizontal, vertical, and overhead. 
• Basic understanding of geometry concepts. 
• High awareness of client satisfaction level and client needs. 
• Good problem-solving skills.
