NS BlueScope - Coated Products North America (Coated Products) is a joint venture between Nippon Steel and BlueScope Steel. The Coated Product business operates in the United States, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia, with its headquarters based in Singapore. This joint venture provides a strong platform to capture growth in new market segments. ASC Profiles LLC and Steelscape LLC are part of the NS BlueScope Coated Products business in the United States and is an industry leader on the forefront of offering innovative steel product solutions. ASC Profiles LLC is the leading manufacturer of steel roof and wall products and structural roof and floor deck in the Western U.S., servicing customers from eight locations. ASC Profiles services various segments of the steel construction industry through its three divisions, AEP Span, ASC Steel Deck and ASC Building Products.

Steelscape, LLC is a national supplier of metallic-coated and pre-painted steel. Aimed at servicing the construction industry, Steelscape's products can be used for a wide range of applications from metal buildings to architectural roofing to decking and framing. Steelscape's facilities, located in Kalama, Washington; and Rancho Cucamonga, California are strategically located near major truck, ship and rail routes to service the Western U.S. market.

The Human Resources Team positions itself to partner the business and support Key Focus Areas directly aligned to the Organization and business strategy.

The Human Resources Generalist supports & deploys HR processes, policies, and practices that align with the goals of the business. The HR Generalist supports the business units in recruiting, benefit administration, HRIS guidance, and HR related special projects. The role works closely with managers in the recruitment process including onboarding and exit programs for employees.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment process by maintaining recruitment system(s) and tools, assist with job posting development, sourcing and screening candidates, interview participation, and pre-employment activities such as administration of drug screens, background checks and reference checks. Post-employment activities include completion of onboarding activities.
  • Provide assistance by responding to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests; this includes employee and manager HR inquiries. Assist employees with interpretation of company policies, procedures and benefits.
  • Supports the maintenance of HRIS and related system administration and employment related changes, including but not limited to Workday, performance management, and training systems. This includes processing employment related changes including data entry into HRIS System (Workday).
  • Assist with employee engagement including, but not limited to, development of new hire and termination communication material, complete new hire onboarding, termination process and annual benefit enrollment communication.
  • Assist with the coordination of key HR projects, such as employee engagement survey, undertake special projects involving accumulations and compilations of data, research, and creating and preparation of reports.
  • Administer leave management, which includes FMLA and Salary Continuance
  • Counsel and advise supervisors and managers regarding company policies and procedures, and all aspects of employment law. Support Compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws
  • Administer unemployment & workshare programs including claims, audits and reporting.
  • Maintain People Policy Framework including document management, site updates, and master records.

Minimum Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree or Equivalent
  • 3 years of Human Resources experience
  • Knowledge and application of employment laws
  • Knowledge and application of benefit plans
  • Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience planning, facilitating and conducting training
  • Skills & Competencies

  • Working knowledge of Workday
  • Working knowledge of training administration and tracking systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

  • Salary Range : This position's estimated hourly rate is $30.70 - $46.05. Actual hourly rate will be dependent on an individual's skills, qualifications, and experience. This role is eligible for 401k Savings plan, Healthcare (medical, dental and vision), and other generous rewards.
