The Developer & Employee Experience Team serves at the direction of the Sr. Director of Technical Engineering, enabling BSC's journey to the cloud. The Platform Developer, Principal, will report to the Sr. Manager of Technical Engineering. In this role you will design, build, and maintain the propriety Cloud Enablement Platform (BlueStack), enabling operational excellence for Blue Shield of CA, our trading partners, and provider networks.

Responsibilities
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Architect, design, deploy and support our provider agnostic Cloud Enablement Developer Platform (BlueStack), actively contributing to the achievement of our future state goals and ensuring current success and operational excellence
- Help to establish, operate and continuously improve within a GitOps framework, leveraging your expertise to accelerate capabilities and practices for the product, team, department, and our partners across the organization
- Design, develop, and implement IaC solutions using Ansible to automate Azure cloud environments, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and other cloud services
- Prepare and maintain detailed system diagrams and technical documentation and specifications as required and necessary to ensure and maintain consistently exceptional quality in our operations
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, development, and operations, to integrate IaC practices into the software development lifecycle and ensure seamless infrastructure changes
- Analyze all aspects of business unit functions to determine design, application, integration and optimal use of information systems
- Design and develop approaches that are implemented by others, influencing leadership across multiple lines of business in service of achieving BSC goals
- Consult, guide and assist users, developers, analysts, and leaders across all levels of the organization in leveraging the Platform's capabilities to solve business problems
- Serve as a thought leader, actively contributing to the ultimate success of BSC's journey to the cloud
- Lead and assist in ensuring compliance with our solutions and the security of company data and assets
- Identify opportunities and areas of improvement for active and potential use-cases for the Platform, inclusive of business development opportunities Principal, will report to the Sr. Manager of Technical Engineering. In this role you will design, build, and maintain the propriety Cloud Enablement Platform (BlueStack), enabling operational excellence for Blue Shield of CA, our trading partners, and provider networks.
Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Requires at least 10 years of professional experience serving as a technical expert and thought leader in enterprise Platform design, development, and maintenance
- Requires hands on experience with cloud migrations in a heavily regulated, DevOps environment
- Requires in depth knowledge of multiple cloud hosting providers, including Microsoft Azure and AWS
- Prefers current AZ-400 and AZ-900 Certification
- Prefers current DO-467 Certification
- Additional Cloud Hosting Provider certifications strongly preferred
- Experience working in an agile development environment is strongly desired
- Experience working remotely is strongly desired
