What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accountant position at BlueSky Resource Solutions?
Key Responsibilities :
Partner with Plant Leadership to uncover cost reduction opportunities and track key benchmarks, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve.
Build strong relationships with management, using your insights and influence to drive positive change and deliver tangible business results.
Dive into the details of overhead, cost of sales, and manufacturing costs, comparing them to budget forecasts and historical trends to identify areas of improvement.
Create insightful reports that compare actual costs to standard costs, providing a clear picture of pricing dynamics and profitability.
Take the lead in updating standard costs and actively support the preparation of our monthly financial outlook, forecasts, and annual budget.
Own the day-to-day accounting functions, including managing the general ledger, overseeing inventory, handling cost accounting, and ensuring fixed asset management is on point.
Help guide the monthly close process by reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and conducting variance analyses, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Be a key player in the audit process by providing the documentation needed to support a smooth, successful audit.
Support both corporate and operational accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy across the board.
Drive sustainable process improvements, proposing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and performance.
Take an active role in exciting projects and initiatives that shape the future of the business.
Other responsibilities as needed—flexibility and adaptability are key!
What We’re Looking For :
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA is a plus).
3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong track record of increasing responsibility.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting principles.
Extensive experience in manufacturing and cost accounting—you're the expert!
Proven success in implementing and maintaining internal controls.
Experience with major ERP systems (SAP experience is a big plus).
