Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager – Reconditioning and play a key role within the RECO / NALP Accounting Team . This position will collaborate closely with the reconditioning finance team and various cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication skills, the ability to build trust, and the capacity to influence decision-making across multiple levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare month-end journal entries for inventory, capitalized freight, customer-owned drums, in-transit inventory, inventory deferral, slow-moving and obsolete inventory (SLOB), and other required entries.
Oversee inventory accounting and maintain inventory and unvouchered payables sub-ledgers .
Serve as a resource for site accountants regarding inventory-related issues.
Maintain and update standard costs , including the calculation of new standards as necessary.
Prepare schedules for balance sheet analysis .
Support FP&A deliverables , including variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
Provide plant accounting support for two to three manufacturing locations .
Manage intercompany transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment.
Prepare account reconciliations as assigned.
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and support special projects.
Assist with external audit requests and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the company. Qualifications & Skills :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
5 years of accounting experience , including month-end close processes.
Experience with inventory accounting and account reconciliations .
Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced skills required).
Experience working in a fast-paced environment .
Familiarity with large ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics SL is a plus).
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills .
