What You'll Do
As an Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE), you'll:
- Architect the Big Picture: Build and refine system models (using tools like Cameo, MagicDraw, or Rhapsody) that guide our teams through the entire system lifecycle-from vision to reality.
- Make Complexity Simple: Translate complex requirements into clear, actionable, and traceable models that drive efficiency and excellence.
- Collaborate to Innovate: Work closely with software, hardware, and testing teams to align every moving part, ensuring the whole system performs like a dream.
- Lead with Models: Develop functional, logical, and physical architecture models (SysML-based, of course) that align with industry best practices.
- Drive Decisions: Conduct analyses and trade studies to optimize performance, cost, and risk while keeping the mission in focus.
- Champion Best Practices: Be the go-to expert onModel-Based Systems Engineeringtools, processes, and methodologies-teaching, coaching, and leading by example.
What You Bring to the Team (Qualifications)
We're looking for a balance of technical expertise and creative problem-solving. Your toolkit should include:
- Experience:
- 5 years designing systems with Model-Based Systems Engineeringtechniques at the core.
- Hands-on mastery of SysML and tools like Cameo, MagicDraw, or Rhapsody.
- Proven success managing requirements and developing system architectures.
- Skills:
- Analytical thinking that turns complexity into clarity.
- Excellent communication skills to connect ideas with teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with standards like INCOSE, DoDAF, UPDM, or UAF to guide your work.
Preferred Qualifications (Your Bonus Skills)
While not required, we'd be thrilled if you also bring:
- Certifications: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or similar credentials that showcase your expertise.
- Industry Experience: A background in sectors like aerospace, defense, automotive, or related high-tech fields.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps principles.
- Scripting or programming proficiency (e.g., Python, MATLAB) to complement your modeling skills.
- Exposure to simulation tools or digital twin technologies.
Staff Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE)
Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $146,000 - $175,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
Required Education: 8 years of Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with a Bachelor of Science degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Principal Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE)
Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $170,000 - $224,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
Required Education: 12 years of Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with a Bachelor of Science degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Clearance Requirement: This position requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance. To be eligible for clearance, US Citizenship is required, and an employee must agree to participate in a background screen and credit check.
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
