Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, Space Planner to join our team. In this role, you will assist our senior clients in downsizing by creating customized floorplans for their new homes. You will use your skills in space planning and design to help clients make the most of their smaller living spaces, ensuring comfort, functionality, and ease of living. This is a part-time position servicing the northern and northwestern suburbs of Chicago.
Key Responsibilities:
· Meet with clients to understand their needs and assess their current living space and furniture.
· Measure existing furniture as well as the new home's space to gather dimensions for planning.
· Create floorplans using specialized floorplanning software, placing existing furniture in the new space to maximize comfort and functionality.
· Collaborate with clients to make necessary adjustments to the floorplan and offer creative solutions for space utilization.
· Provide support to clients throughout the downsizing process, offering guidance and recommendations for furniture, organization, and design.
· Maintain a positive, professional relationship with senior clientele, demonstrating patience, empathy, and exceptional customer service.
· Ensure all planning and design solutions meet the specific needs and preferences of the client and community they are moving to.
Qualifications:
· Background in interior design, organizing, downsizing, or a related field a plus, but not required.
· Openness and disposition for working with senior clientele.
· Strong eye for design and space planning.
· Must have access to a vehicle to travel to appointments (mileage reimbursed).
· Proficiency in space planning software or willingness to learn (training provided).
· Excellent organizational and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
