Kidron Bethel Village is looking for a part-time, seasonal Flower Bed Maintenance Worker to join our team from April to September!
Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Flower Bed Maintenance Worker is the cultivation and care of flower beds and surrounding areas, ensuring they are weed-free, well-maintained, and visually appealing.
Essential Job Functions:
Weed Removal:
- Identify and remove weeds from flower beds using hand tools or other methods.
- Ensure thorough weed removal to prevent regrowth and maintain a clean appearance.
Mulching:
- Apply and maintain mulch in flower beds to suppress weeds, retain moisture, and improve soil health.
- Ensure even distribution of mulch and proper layering for optimal results.
General Maintenance:
- Rake and clear debris from flower beds.
- Assist with planting and transplanting flowers and other plants.
- Water plants as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned, such as edging, pruning, or deadheading.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Use and maintain hand tools and other gardening tools.
- Ensure equipment is in good working order and stored properly.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be at least sixteen [16] years of age.
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, such as bending, kneeling, and lifting.
- Prefer prior experience in grounds maintenance, knowledge of planting, weeding and mulching.
Physical Requirements:
Medium Work Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
