Bluestem Health is currently accepting applications for a Referral Coordinator. This position is full-time (40 hours per week).
Responsibilities
The primary purpose of this position is assist the clinical staff by processing and coordinating referrals for the clinic, as well as, schedule appointments and obtain necessary information for prior-authorizations.
Essential Duties
High school diploma or equivalent, required. Qualified applicants should be self-motivated, detail oriented, organized, possess strong customer service skills, and possess strong computer skills. One (1) years of office experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties
- Gather information concerning patient's clinical background and referral needs.
- Schedule, problem solve, communicate, and coordinate referral appointments with outside specialists.
- Ensure that all referral orders and pertinent records are sent to the appropriate office in a timely manner.
- Respond to in-house provider questions, requests, and concerns regarding the status of patient referrals or follow-up status.
- Assists the patients in obtaining appointments with specialists and acquiring special medical procedures.
- Telephones providers of specialty services to set up appointments.
- Ensure that referrals are addressed in a timely manner.
- Communicate with clinical staff regarding any issues or any need for further follow-up.
- Contact patients regarding pending referrals and/or diagnostic testing.
- Complete prior authorizations for procedures and/or medications.
- Document and track referral information in the electronic health record.
