Insurance Follow-Up Specialist

Bluestone Health Association Inc is a federally qualified health center dedicated to providing high quality healthcare services to underserved communities. We are currently seeking a highly qualified Insurance Follow-up Specialist to strengthen our billing department and ensure accurate, timely reimbursement for services rendered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing patient account balance including accurate claim submission, compliance with all federal/state and third-party billing regulations, timely follow-up, and assistance with denial management to ensure the financial viability of bluestone Health Association Inc.
• Submits accurate and timely claims to third party payers.
• Resolves claim edits and account errors prior to claim submissions.
• Adheres to appropriate procedures and timelines for follow-up with third party payers to ensure collections and exceeds department goals.
• Complies with notices of Privacy Practices and follows all HIPAA regulations and pertaining to PHI and claim submission/follow up.
• Monitors and follow-up outstanding insurance claims.
• Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues.
• Attends department meetings via in-person, Teams meeting Meetings, or by Zoom.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and payer-specific regulations.
• Collaborate with the billing team to optimize revenue cycle process
• Provides excellent customer service to patients, visitors and employees.
• Works with supervisors and manager to develop and exceed annual goals.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in insurance follow-up or medical billing. One (1) year medical billing.
• Strong knowledge of insurance guidelines and claim processing
• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills
• Detailed- oriented with the ability to work independently.
